3rd Ear Experience – Incredible Good Fortune (2014)

“3RD EAR EXPERIENCE is a new genuine space rock band recording musical improvisations in a little studio situated out in the highlands of Joshua Tree/Mojave Desert, just where some of the members live… Three days of free form jams led on to the self-released debut album ‘Peacock Black’ which is comprised of four extended tracks. At times being courageously experimental they abandoned formal arrangements and allowed the music to flow in a cosmic sonic dialogue between fellow musicians and stargazers. The result is summing up trance-like and groovy excursions, Kosmische Musik in the Berlin School vein as well as dramatic and otherwordly moments.”

Space Invaders – Dreadnought (2015)

“SPACE INVADERS is a loose project of members originally being underway with different space and krautrock bands in Germany and Switzerland. It all started in 2009 at the Burg Herzberg Festival where session guitarist Mike Häfliger (SPACENOTE), bass player Paul Pott (ZONE SIX) as well as Dirk Bittner and Dirk Jan Müller of ELECTRIC ORANGE fame came together for some jam experiences. Diverse live gigs followed featuring guests like Mani Neumeier and Damo Suzuki.”

Krautzone – Kosmische Rituale (2013)

“Krautzone was formed in September 2011 automatic – it just created itself totally spontaneous and autonomous: They met at the moonbase, to spend a nice time together. THE moment came and they decided to play music, so they fired the aggregates, pressed the recording button and improvised on the fly. After this session they all thought it’s like holidays from their actual bands like Electric Moon, Zone Six, The Pancakes.”

Blown Out – Jet Black Hallucinations (2015)

“New Power Trio formed in 2014 from Newcastle, UK. Their music is heavy rolling basslines, waster infused guitar freakouts held together with steady freeform rhythms. Made up from members of BONG, Drunk In Hell, Haikai No Ku, 11Paranoias, Khunnt and pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs. The trio evoke the psychedelic rock, space rock jams from San Francisco’s glory days – effects-laden guitar jamming that goes nowhere and everywhere, held down by a hypnotic groove that never misses a beat, no matter how long they play without pause.”

Papir meets Electric Moon – The Papermoon Sessions (2013)

“Led by Sula Bassana‘s (Dave Schmidt‘s) fuzzed-out, heavy guitar explorations, Electric Moon weave pure-psychedelia, dub, doom, krautrock and drone into kosmische improvisations via a myriad of intergalactic riffs, stellar effects and deep-space transmissions. The overall vibe of their epic but hypnotic freak-outs can be utterly mesmerizing or darker than the depths of the most monstrous of black holes, but all the while remaining deeply psychedelic. Sounding vital and fresh, Papir‘s cutting-edge take on psychedelica doesn’t hark back to a bygone era, but voyages through lush valleys of atmospheric soundscapes into peaks of wah wah driven, explosive guitar solos, all propelled by jazz-inflicted motorik grooves that serve to give the louder parts more impact. The band’s use of balance and structure, freedom and power, heaviness and laid back atmospheres comes to full fruition on their latest album, the terrific III, out on Causa Sui‘s adventurous El Paraiso label, and puts Papir squarely in the vanguard of the booming European psychedelic rock scene, along with Electric Moon.”

Yuri Gagarin – Yuri Gagarin (2013)

“It’s a quality release, crafted by people that obviously know the right buttons to press to make people float down the stream of their own consciousness, abandoning their ego while flying through the electric field of matter and time and onwards towards the Great Truth. It’s a groove-fest made by stoners for stoners, and has a kickass cover you could lose yourself in. Now can you dig that my psychedelic brothers and sisters.”

Monomyth – Monomyth (2013)

“Do you like music that pulls you out of your arm chair and takes you on a ride across the desert or possibly even through space? Yes? Well I have some great news, here’s another album which is going to do just that. Monomyth are a five piece instrumental band from the Netherlands, a land that we all know has a certain herb in abundance which has no doubt helped these chaps create a splendid self-titled little record… If you are a fan of bands like Colour Haze, Monkey3 and latter day Ancestors then you are going to love this album.”

Insider – …Vibrations From The Tapes… (2012)

“The album features five fully improvised instrumental songs, which have been recorded live with two microphones on analog tape deck in the band’s rehearsel room. Hence it comes as no surprise that the song length varies mostly between 12 and almost 28 minutes. The tunes are dominated by extensive, excessive guitar jams, which will allow listeners to immerse themselves in psychedelic worlds. There is still the Hawkwind vibe, but INSIDER make also use of elements which we know from bands like Can or Guru Guru.”
