Endless Boogie – Twenty Minute Jam Getting Out of the City (2011)

“Meet Endless Boogie, the best-kept secret in New York’s rock scene. They have the best name (taken from John Lee Hooker’s 1971 album), the best onstage vibe and the best head-nodding jams. In a sea of derivative and freshly outfitted young bands, Endless Boogie — with a combined age of 169 and members who count Canned Heat as one of their influences — doesn’t have a big agenda. They just want to rock with you, preferably all night long. “We try boogie sometimes, but boogie’s hard,” says guitarist Jesper Eklow (aka “The Governor”) self-effacingly. “Boogie takes skill and we haven’t honed those skills yet.” The band’s sound is a meltdown of metal, psychedelic and classic rock with a heavy dose of riffage, a kick-ass beat and super-cryptic lyrics.”

Anjo Gabriel – O Culto Secreto Do Anjo Gabriel (2011)

“Angel Gabriel is commonly referred to in religious communities as a “divine messenger” or a “messenger of God.” Maybe the religious implications of this name were on the mind Anjo Gabriel when the South American’s first formed. Either way, you can not help feeling that this is used as a metaphor by the progressive jam band, as a way of transporting their psychedelic rock teachings to the rest of the world. The Brazilian’s krautrock-inspired sound, dilutes acid guitar swooshes, which are at times, incredibly chaotic, as they interweave through space and time. The self-proclaimed ‘psychedelic messengers’ of South American rock will spread their teachings far and wide.”

Hills – Master Sleeps (2011)

“Hills formed as a 3-piece aiming to make music that focuses on the groove/sounds and rhythm instead of the lyrics/message and classical songwriting structures. To create a meditative space heavily dependent on improvisation. To create a feeling but not necessarily to explain it through words. Influenced by everything from the early experimentation of John Coltrane via the repetitiveness of Velvet Underground, Krautrock / Psych in general and the grimness of early black/ death metal bands such as Hellhammer and punk. Hills try to keep it honest, analog and raw in the very best way they can.”

Jokers – Jokers (2011)

“Hailing from Tehran, Iran, the JOKERS were arguably Iran’s heaviest underground rock group during the early 70’s. Having visited the UK for a short period, Vaheed, the lead singer and guitarist of JOKERS returned to Iran with new ideas and influences. After hearing groups like MC 5 & Cream, the JOKERS decided to pursue this type of sound, and subsequently recorded a heavy psychedelic blues album in a garage circa 1972 using nothing more then a reel to reel and two microphones. Filled with heavy fuzz, loud wah guitars and screaming vocals, the album sounds unlike any rock artifact unearthed from Iran so far.”

My Brother the Wind – I Wash My Soul in the Stream of Infinity (2011)

“My Brother The Wind is a psychedelic rock oriented project formed in Åmål, Sweden in 2009. The band consists of Nicklas Barker (Anekdoten) on guitar, Mathias Danielsson (Makajodama, and formerly of Gösta Berlings Saga) also on guitar, Ronny Eriksson (Magnolia) on bass and Tomas Eriksson on drums. The idea is to record albums out of the blue, totally improvised and with no previous rehearsals.”
